Diode Testing The test steps are as follows.
a. Put the red wire to the cathode leg and the black wire to the anode leg.
b. Pay attention to the ohmmeter needle!

1) If the needle deviates to the right then the diode resistance value is small.
2) If the number is fixed (at rest) then the diode has broken.

c. Turn the ohmmeter cable against the legs of the diode. Pay attention to the ohm-meter needle!

1) If the needle is still, the diode is still in good condition.
2) If the needle moves then the diode is damaged.

Transformer Testing The test steps are as follows. a. Place the ohmmeter selector needle on the lowest measurement. b. Take turns testing the primary, secondary coils, the relationship between the primary and secondary components, and the connection of the coil with the iron core. The determination of the measurement results is as follows.

1) For the primary coil: if the needle does not move then the coil has broken.

2) For the secondary coil: if the needle does not move then the coil has broken.

3) For the connection between the primary coil and the secondary coil: if the needle does not move then the coil is still good.

4) For the connection of the coil to the iron core: if the needle does not move, the transformer is still in good condition.

Potentiometer Testing The test steps are as follows. a. Adjust the position of the ohmmeter selector to the potentiometer capacity, for example if the potentiometer value is 21 (Q, then the ohmmeter measurement limit is x1K. B.Put the red wire at point a and the black wire at point b. Pay attention to the state of the ohmmeter number,

1) If the needle moves along with rotation as potentiometer, potentiometer is still good.

2) If the needle moves not according to the rotation of the potentiometer, the potentiometer is damaged or worn.

Testing of Radio IC Components

TESTING THE SUMMARY GROUNDING
The grounding test of the circuit is carried out after the circuit is assembled. The steps taken are as follows.
1. Connect the circuit that has been made with a 6 V.
2. Using a voltmeter, check the important parts of the circuit, such as mixers, amplifiers, and detectors. By paying attention to the state of the needle, it can be seen whether the circuit or parts are connected properly to mass or ground. If the current measured on the voltmeter does not match the specified capacity, the wiring or soldering of the components is still not good. For example, the grounding test on the source of the electric current is shown in Figure 9.6 below!

3. If the circuit that has been made still does not produce the desired sound, then check it by scraping with a screwdriver the parts shown in Figure 8.1 IC radio circuit. a. Match leg no. 3 IC LM 386. If the IC is still good then the loudspeaker will sound a loud "crack". If it turns out that the loudspeaker remains silent, carefully check the IC. If it is damaged, it can be replaced with a new one. b. If the loudspeaker does not sound, match the leg b of the potentiometer so that the loudspeaker makes a "crack" sound. c. If the loudspeaker still doesn't sound, do a scraping on the diode pins, a to the 7, 12, and 14 pins of IC LM 1820 so that a "crack" sound occurs on the loudspeaker. d. If you get to this last step the radio is not functioning either, maybe the IC is reversed or IC LM 1820 needs to be replaced. e. Next, check the mixer, oscillator, and antenna spool that may affect the reception of waves from the transmitting station.
